Leica CityMapper-3 hybrid imaging and LiDAR airborne system
Superior efficiency and versatility for demanding urban and regional mapping applications
Leica CityMapper-3 hybrid airborne mapping system combines the latest imaging and LiDAR technologies within a single, configurable platform. Building on Leica Geosystems’ established hybrid airborne approach, CityMapper-3 introduces a multi-configuration design that allows both imaging and LiDAR to be tailored to specific mission requirements, supporting a wide range of urban and regional mapping applications. On the imaging side, the system increases acquisition efficiency by 30%, while tightly aligned imaging and LiDAR sensors enable efficient data acquisition, delivering consistent, application-ready 2D and 3D geospatial data.
High-performance camera system
CityMapper-3 features MFC250 camera technology, powered by Sony’s IMX811 sensor, delivering up to 30% higher acquisition efficiency compared to previous generations. Configurable multi-view camera allows swath width and resolution to be adapted to different flight altitudes, while maintaining consistent image quality.
Adaptable LiDAR data capture
The system features Hyperion3+ LiDAR module with configurable scan patterns optimised for different terrain types. Circular, elliptical, and skewed elliptical scan modes support consistent, high-quality point cloud capture for urban, corridor, and regional mapping environments projects.
Application-ready data
CityMapper-3 enables simultaneous acquisition of imagery and LiDAR in a single flight, delivering consistent, application-ready 2D and 3D datasets. Tight sensor alignment supports applications ranging from 3D city modelling and digital twins to accurate ortho and regional mapping.
