1997: Frankfurt–Cologne high-speed rail project
In response to customer requirements, Wirtgen and Leica Geosystems jointly developed a 3D solution to achieve precise paving in confined tunnels and under overhead cables where stringlines were not feasible.
1999: First release for Concrete & Asphalt Paving
The first release of the Leica Machine Guidance System for paving applications.
2006: Pave Smart 3D
Release of Pave Smart 3D as a successor of LMGS. Support for Cold Planers was added.
2013: 3D auto steering
Supporting 3D auto steering and edge control on asphalt pavers.
2015: 1Up sensor
Patented 1Up sensor configuration brings curb and gutter 3D control solution to a new level of accuracy.
2018: Leica iCON pave
Release of the 3rd generation of Leica 3D stringless paving & milling solution: iCON pave
2023: Safety awareness integration
